Ok. Sometimes you just realize something but you can't pinpoint it to explain it. This is like when you say "I can't put my finger on it" stuff. This is not philosophy, because philosophy can be logically laid out. In this post, I will go through my thoughts on good and bad and their war. So don't expect a structured blog post for this one. But before this one, you might want to check out my posts about rage bait and cancel culture.
"To withstand a bottle of ink, you must be the sea". This saying is my production. It is about responsibility. I have another saying supports this: "You won't only be judged by your mistakes, but also by the right things you didn't do". It basically points to complacency against reality. You are not expected to be torn apart by bad reality or be exhausted by rallying against bad things. All it takes is just 1 consistent sincere act from 1 million. Because in the end, I assume you want to side with good rather than evil right. This is fundamental to any belief system or any evolutionary mindset, right?
So to begin with, you can assign yourself 1 good thing to do for someone. But strangely, I see the most influential or capable or wealthy people are less likely to pick a good thing. The people with less probabilities usually have more ideas or intentions of doing good things since they actually witness the disadvantages. But they can't act. So in order to compensate this and to actually relieve your duty, you must be doing something with your own opportunities.
But small acts won't just be enough either. Just because you tweeted something, may not necessarily be enough to make a difference in this world. Also, more opportunities deems more actions because you need to balance it out. Because you will realize the bad is more subversive than the productive energy of good. 1 bottle of ink can change a lake's color. Evil breed more evil and it acts like a cancer. So, that is why I say, in order to withstand the destructive power of a couple of bad actions, you need to have a sea of good to overcome them. That is why we have the compensation logic above. More opportunities must be filling the gap of others with less possibility of movement.
Responsibility is not always visible to us, sometimes we need to realize it. For example, having more followers on social media puts responsibility on you because you have a bigger reach. If you have more than enough money to live with, you must share it. If you have intellectually rich people around you, you must acquire and share more knowledge. If you are physically strong, you must be helping elderly or handicapped sometimes. If you know something bad is happening somewhere, you have to notify the authorities. Don't expect people to remind you your responsibilities. Ask "now that I have this, what should I do with it" to yourself.
When evil thrives, there are consequences. People are usually losing the intention of empathy because of their unpleasant experiences with other people. And when empathy goes away, it opens a door to selfishness. Selfishness can yield to complacent people who don't care about their responsibilities. I don't exactly judge people here, but I have the intention of reflecting society to society. Some people have done enough bad things to push others into selfishness. But on the other hand, we do have selfish born people too. Regardless, the bad things are loud and spreading fast. So whether you agree with my analysis or not, we need 10x good to compensate bad. That is a fact.
There are evil or rigged systems in the world which promise you shortcuts to wealth or power. These systems are bad and everyone knows it. But still, bad people will defend these systems so that they can take advantage of the shortcuts later themselves. So you won't only fight against money and power sources, you will also fight against the clans. That is why even democracies can't correct mistakes. This is also one more reason for 1 to 10 ratio.
There are bad people on social media and thanks to algorithms, they are getting clicks and popularity. So it has become easier to spread disinformation or harmful content. It is almost like bad behavior is praised in this century. Like we did in biology classes, giving an environment suitable for bacteria to grow. This is another reason why you need 10x good against 1 bad behavior.
So, as I said in the beginning, this post was almost like a brainstorming for me and I can't just tell you what to do and when. It all depends on your circumstances. Even if you have one tweet to try to stop the madness, you do it. The more you have must turn into the more you share. Don't wait to be reminded of your responsibilities and realize you need collaborative mindset and action. Only then humanity may overcome the darkness that is trying to spread. You can also check out why societies collapse. See you at the next post.
