It is time for another questioning post again :) Apparently i have barely hit the minimum target of 12 posts and written 1 post per month on average. I said i wonder what will i write next year if i am still alive and kicking in the last year's post. Since i am still alive and kicking, what is the point of this year's post? Unpleasant situation of world.
Last year i was concerned of exhausting my topics to write. It looks like i succeeded to write most of the posts that i planned but this year there is another psychology is dominant. I am still thinking that some posts would be meaningless to people or pointless to talk about in today's world. I admit that i was a bit lazy this year, but when you look at the events of 2024-2025, not much pleasant things are happening around the world and especially in Turkey.
When we look at the situation, the worse candidate of 2 candidates won the American presidential election. Russia invaded Ukraine but American interests are aligned with Russia and Ukraine is basically sold out by USA. After the questionable October 7 events in Israel, they had an excuse to keep on murdering and destruction in Palestine and growing this way. In Turkey, the ever growing autocratic government and the mass which has embodied this bullying, is endangering the future of the country more than ever and making life unbearable at the same time. Our economy is making us experience a crisis unlike any other in the history of the world. Because official institutions are playing with numbers and bureaucracy is operating to hide the facts.
Actually, my main reason for blogging is that it's mostly a hobby and a way to leave behind a legacy. But then, in a world where the realities i have mentioned exist, one can't help but wonder: what should we be talking about first and foremost? That’s why I also try to write about the things that i believe are going wrong in the world from my own perspective. But i’m well aware of that human beings are not only responsible for the wrongs they commit, but also for the rights they didn't commit. In other words, simply knowing and talking about what’s wrong isn’t enough. We also need to think about what we should be doing. For example, we need to change our unproductive ways of thinking. We need to improve ourselves in terms of understanding and communication. Also, maybe it would be beneficial to take our time for a little art, or listening to and supporting science a bit more. Of course, since my field is software, i also write about the things I can offer people in that area. In this way, the whole motivation and content of the blog is shaped.
But then, you feel like you are preaching to others. But people should be careful when speaking about topics they're not well informed about. These days, there are already plenty of people who has a lot of confidence in themselves and what they know. That’s why the priority should be learning. Every time i open this blog and see the list of categories on the left, i wonder whether , can write something about them or improve myself in those areas. And that’s a good thing. Still, talking only about topics that are only based on hobbies can start feeling a bit meaningless based on the realities of our time.
Let me choose the post of the year again. The post of the year of this year was a very comprehensive series of 3 posts. And the updated list is below.
So, what are the goals of this year? :) I guess i will try to force myself to hit the minimum 12 posts target this year, alongside with the couple of posts that i plan on writing. Instead of focusing on one area, i will try to reach the target number but without sacrificing quality. What i write here must be more or less meaningful for someone. It doesn't make much sense to rely on the thought "i am not harming anyone" and staying out of reality in today's world. See you at the next post.
